Code Development Opportunities – Through membership in the International Code Council (ICC), members may participate and vote on the development of tomorrow’s codes.

Discounted Publications – ILLOWA membership provides each member an opportunity to receive, at a reduced price, ICC publications.

Legislative Voice – Join forces with your fellow building officials to help shape effective state legislation. Public Relations – As more and more building officials join ILLOWA, we can increase public awareness of the industry and its importance in the community. Membership in ILLOWA is a way to show pride in your profession to the community.

Professional Development - Through its activities and services, ILLOWA officers and staff encourage and help all members to enhance, expand, and cultivate their professional abilities.

Training Opportunities – We compile a comprehensive list of training events going on that our member would be interested in, we have training opportunites at monthly meetings and many free training events.

Eligibility

ILLOWA membership consists of three categories: Class A, Class B and Life Members.

Class A Member: Governmental Members - A Class A member shall be a person who is the designated Building Official of a City, County or City/County, political subdivision, State Agency, or department thereof within the State of Illinois, who is charged with the promulgation, correlation, administration, or enforcement of laws and ordinances relating to Building Construction.

Class B Members: Professional/Subscribing Members - An individual, firm, or association engaged in building design, inspection, research, testing, code administration, education, or standards development who is interested in the objectives of the Association.

Life Member - A Life Member is an individual who has rendered outstanding and meritorious service in the furtherance of the objectives of this Association. A Life Membership shall be proposed by the Board of Directors and confirmed by a majority vote of the members at the annual business meeting and such membership shall be for life.

Dues

Annual dues are based upon these membership classifications:
